Check out the below webisode for a glimpse behind-the-scenes of the current ICED EARTH summer tour with VOLBEAT and Hellyeah and a great interview with Jon and Stu!
Dear fans, friends and fellow metalheads in India.
It is with a heavy heart and deep regret to announce that we will not be performing at the Bangalore Open Air festival on the 16th of June 2012.
Unfortunately, we have been a victim of terminal visa issues for our American band and crew members, despite having followed every step given to us and retaining one of the top immigration firms in the world to do the job. It turns out some of the regulations have changed without this being made known to us and we are now no longer in a position to get the necessary paperwork in place. This has come as a huge disappointment since we were looking forward to performing for and meeting all of you for the very first time in your wonderful country.
We would like to thank the team of BOA for all their help and support along the way. Unfortunately things are now beyond the control of the band and the organizers but we sincerely hope all the metalheads in India will continue to support Bangalore Open Air and all the fantastic bands scheduled to play there.
Finally, a huge thank you to all the Indian metalheads for your kind words and wonderful support. We promise to make every effort to make it to India as soon as humanly possible and bang heads with each and every one of you.

My metal brothers and sisters!
As some of you know, we are going to record a new DVD later this summer in the ancient Kourion Theater in Limassol, Cyprus.
As I said in a recent post, the decision of which city around the world to film a show was not an easy one, considering all the great responses we received on these last 2 legs of the world tour. But in the end, the atmosphere in Cyprus was so electric and intense that we felt this was the obvious choice this time around.
Well, not only are the crowds in Cyprus amazing, but you can see what an awesome and intimate atmosphere we will be recording in by following the link below.
This theater has been around for thousands of years and has been witness to the Greek, Roman and Byzantine Empires. This will be a truly spectacular place to film, and the boys and I can’t wait to make it happen. We have a hell of a set list and show planned that will span the entire Iced Earth catalog!
I urge any fans around the world, that have the means to travel, to get their tickets soon and join us on August 19th, 2012, in the beautiful and historic country of Cyprus, for an event that will surely be one of the highlights of Iced Earth’s history.

Best to you all, and see you on the road soon!
Just wanted to write a thank you to all the fans on the last leg of the tour. You guys were amazing every single night, no matter where in the world we were. It was a truly special run, and one that will remain high in my memories for years to come.
We will start song writing in the Fall this year and will continue that, and the subsequent production for the new album, in between and around upcoming tour plans for the remainder of 2012-2013. Busy, focused, and energizing times lie ahead, but we are stoked and ready! Count on it!
I'm currently in South America, hanging with friends, and taking care of some personal business here. Home sweet home is just around the corner, and I'm looking forward to sleeping in my own bed! AHHHHH!!!!
I'd also like to say good luck to Freddie Vidales, we had a lot of fun through the years and I wish him all the best for his future. We totally understand his decision and support it 100%.
Best to you brother!
Until next time, thank you once again... take care, and I wish you all the very best life has to offer!
Hello brothers and sisters!
It is my honor to share some great news with you. Iced Earth will be supporting VOLBEAT on a North American tour starting on June 18, 2012. The bill is rounded off by HELLYEAH!
I’m completely stoked, VOLBEAT is one of my all-time favorite bands, and Michael and the boys are great people. There is a lot of mutual respect and admiration, and I think we are in for a hell of a good time! This will be a package that won’t soon be forgotten, I’m sure of that.
I want to thank VOLBEAT for the invitation, and I look forward to many years of laying down the metal as both bands continue to grow and reach new audiences around the world.
We will see you on the road soon!
Forever the rebel,
US-metal powerhouse ICED EARTH, currently in China for the first time with shows in Shanghai and Beijing this week, are adding on more shows to their massive WORLD DYSTOPIA TOUR.
The show in Bangalore, India on June 16th is a first visit to India for the band and the show on August 19th in Limassol marks a much-clamored return to Cyprus, only 8 months after their last show there. The show is being filmed and recorded for an upcoming DVD/CD release.
"The decision of where to do the next IE live album and DVD was not an easy one. We have experienced so many amazing audiences around the world that we really wish we could film them all. However, the electricity and atmosphere of the first show in Cyprus was so killer that we are convinced this is the best place to do our next DVD. Who knows what the future holds? There will be many more albums and touring cycles...your city may be next!", says Jon Schaffer

In other news, bass player Freddie Vidales has announced he will leave the band after the Chinese shows this April. Due to the bands massive touring commitments there was immediate need for a replacement and Luke Appleton (of Fury UK, with whom ICED EARTH toured in Europe last winter) has stepped up to the plate and will be joining the tour in time for the show in India.
Mark your calendars. Fans in Sweden...get ready! Iced Earth has just been confirmed to play the Kalaset Festival!
Date: August 4, 2012
Festival: Kalaset Festival
More information will be announced on our Tour page when it becomes available.
Ready or not...
In this installment, you get to watch Iced Earth hang out with Symphony X, Into Eternity, and of course each other everywhere from a bowling alley (?) to partying in Vegas to a Russian attack sub (!) built in 1972. It doesn't get any better than this. THANK YOU, Freddie! Well done.
